This design uses the "skinny" header of the new secondary page layout.
The quicklist flyout menu in the top dark gray header would have 2 sections, first being links related to Relations & Communications; the second section would be links generally to UWSP sites.
The links in the dark gray header lead to general UWSP sites consistent with current demand.
The photo at top center would be a current event image, with a brief description to its left. A "MORE" link could lead to a secondary page with more info about the photo/event.
Articles in the center are for reporting events/news items that have already taken place or newsworthy stories relevant to the UWSP community.
The links at the bottom (Message of the Day, Government Relations, etc.) are consistent and would not change, though the "Event Calendar" column would be for promoting current events.
"This Week" along the right side is an "open" category, as it could be used for event promotion, brief facts/quips, reminders, etc.
Note: The main page is 760 pixels wide. It floats centered in a browser window as the window is widened or narrowed. The top header banner, dark gray on this page, disappears left and right as the browser window is resized, so only the main page is visible. (Example here.)
