This iconically quaint barbershop was located in a very small town in Minnesota. I had been to the town many times as it was "homebase" to a summer cabin I grew up with as a kid, but had never noticed the shop nestled back under the trees. I became aware of, and studied the scene, as I awaited an unrelated event. Some of the best subjects for photographs are completely serendipitous and never posed or contrived. (20 years later: This shop has been razed and replaced by a large retirement complex)
