Working evenings I have the chance to spend time observing empty spaces around campus. A balcony circumvents the library and offers views I rarely have time to enjoy. The patio had gone unused for months as winter accumulated itself across grass and tables and places usually walked on. The photo is not altered or enhanced in any way. The light sources were windows on ground floor and ambient light filtering down from the second floor. And of course from the lamplights visible in the photograph. Some of the charm and softness is due to snow lightly filtered down during a long exposure.
