Watering the flower bed with a soaker hose, I walked past and noticed the soil directly beneath the hose bulge up, then subside. "Must've hallucinated," I thought. But, suspicious, I grabbed the camera and hunkered down near the wet soil to watch.
Then it rose out of the muck and gave me a glare.
