Photoshop Darken Mode

The neutral color for the Darken modes is white – white pixels on a layer set to a Darken mode leave the underlying pixels unchanged. Nonwhite pixels darken the result by varying amounts, depending on the blend mode and opacity.

Duplicate the background layer and rename it Òdarken+blurÓ

Add Gaussian blur of 8 pixels or experiment with higher amounts of blur

Change the layer-blending mode to Òdarken.Ó

Open a new levels adjustment layer and bring the right slider so it just touches the slope

Darken mode is useful also for dust spotting images
